EMKC³ is a licenced property funds management business based in Australia, with a focus on value investing and opportunity-led asset repositioning.
EMKC³’s predecessor (EMKC Australia) was established in 2015 by founding partners Edward McKenna and Karen Choi and is now known as EMKC³, which is jointly owned by the EMKC Group and 26CUBED. EMKC³ is managed by Director of Investments and co-owner, Ashleigh Gorman.
EMKC³’s integrated property platform comprises in-house property funds management, development and delivery expertise. In partnership with the architecture, finance, property and hotels management businesses within the EMKC Group and 26CUBED portfolio, EMKC³ has a deep level of expertise across the commercial, mixed use, healthcare and hospitality property sectors.
Having developed in excess of AUD 2b of industrial and logistics property since 2015, the institutional property expertise of EMKC³’s executive team and the private ownership structure of EMKC³ make it a partner of choice for family office and corporate investors based in the Asia Pacific region.

A qualified economist and entrepreneur with a rich experience across the property, funds management, financial services and luxury product sectors, Edward hails from one of Australia’s esteemed commercial property development families. Since 2007 Edward has held management positions in prominent businesses initially across the Pacific Region followed by Asia. Edward has co-founded and is responsible for the strategic growth of a number of companies globally, alongside overseeing his family office’s investment activities.
Edward is responsible for spearheading the investment strategy for EMKC Group and is closely involved with a number of the operating businesses within the portfolio, including EMKC3.

Karen is a highly qualified registered architect that has been operating across the hospitality, commercial, logistics and high-end residential property sector in Asia and Australia since 2006. Karen’s family have been involved in property law and engineering over many decades. This background alongside Karen’s postgraduate qualifications in property development give have given Karen commercial approach to architecture and design.
Responsible for the design edge and flair that makes EMKC Group’s property assets distinct and desirable, Karen leads a team of architects and interior designers that thrive on the creation of these memorable spaces.

Shan is a practicing lawyer whom has spent over 15 years as a senior business leader with a proven track record of running large scale diversified and complex industrial, property and technology businesses in Australia and New Zealand. Shan is on the board of the Australian Steel Institute, the nation’s peak body representing the Australian manufactured steel supply chain, and is the Chairman of Atturra Limited an ASX listed IT services and advisory business.
Instrumental in the establishment of EMKC3 in 2021, Shan holds the position of Chairman on the EMKC3 board.

Ashleigh is a qualified property economist with further education in urban planning and property valuation. Ashleigh’s career started in the property development sector and at EMKC Ashleigh was responsible for leading development and portfolio advisory projects including commercial negotiations, extensive dealings with statutory authorities and government departments, through to financial modeling and the creation of innovative development strategies.
Now responsible for leading the investment business and managing EMKC3 in Australia, Ashleigh holds the position of Director of Investments at EMKC3.
Independent Director
Paul has had four decades of experience working across the Australian industrial and office property sectors where he held senior positions with Walker Corporation and Australand before founding Commercial & Industrial Property (CIP) with his partners in 2003. CIP grew to become one of Australia’s largest commercial property development and construction companies, culminating with the McKenna family and their partners selling the business to ESR (a large fund manager in the Asia Pacific region) in 2018.
Paul has led development and asset management teams through multiple economic cycles and has completed over AUD 20 billion of property development throughout his career. Paul holds the position of Independent Director on EMKC3’s board and is responsible for reviewing the proposed management decisions within EMKC3’s property funds.
